My Upstate Getaway

Well I am finally back from my little vacation and while it was cold and snowy, it was still a very nice stay. My aunt and uncle have three cats with all very different personalities. The oldest pretty much likes to sleep all day, the next one still acts like a kitten and the youngest is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. (I shall post pictures of them next time :3 )

I managed to take some very nice pictures while up by around 9 and 10 in the morning. It's so beautiful up there, even during the winter months when snow covers the trees and the ground.

A Relaxing Weekend

Good Morning!

I know, I was going to try to post on Wednesday but this was my last week at my current job so things have been a little hectic. In any case, I am posting from Upstate New York! That's right, I am in the relaxing and very nature-y, woodsy area of the busy state of New York.

As I look out of the window, there is a light sheet of snow covering everything! It's so peaceful and quiet right now but very beautiful. I intend to take some pictures so I can show you the natural beauty of the area. Most animals have moved to warmer climates or just starting to prepare for their long winter nap. Chipmunks and squirrels scurrying around to add to their inventory and birds that don't fly south are popping up now and then. There is also a lake nearby which is pretty calm as there is no strong wind. One can definitely tell that winter is approaching.

I find it funny as I was born in the winter but I normally can't stand it. It usually tends to make travelers very sour and most would rather stay home in their warm beds. But when I go Upstate, that all changes. I actually love the winter here! I don't get to see this kind of scene everyday but there is something magical when you're in the middle of a forest. It's as if you have entered another world. A magical place where life is what you make it. It's so inspirational and it definitely helps with my photography! So please be sure to be on the lookout for images in my next post!

Do you have a favorite place you like to retreat to when you need a break?

Until next time~
